Core diameter & outside diameter
Core: The inner cardboard tube your labels wind onto. Determines which printers the roll fits — 2" and 3" cores are the standard sizes.
Outside diameter: The full roll diameter when wound (4", 5", 6", or 8"). Affects how many labels fit on one roll and how often you change rolls.
Check your printer manual for supported core and outside-diameter sizes. Desktop machines commonly take 2" cores; industrial machines often need 3".
Material choices narrow with the printer too — compare the full range on the label materials page, or send the spec to a label specialist if your machine isn't listed.
